What are you looking forward to in 2014? I'm looking forward to seeing more lives impacted by Christ's love through LJ!
Praise God for His plans for us each new year and for His new mercies every morning! "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail. They are new ever morning; great is Your faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23)
Praise Him also for our new birth/new lives in Christ! "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)
"You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness." (Ephesians 4:22-24) This is not only a once-for-all decision when we decide to accept Christ's gift of salvation & to follow Him but also a daily conscious commitment. We are not to be driven by the old sinful nature. We must daily put on Christ and have the mind of Christ, the new way of thinking that the Holy Spirit gives. "Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh." (Romans 13:14) We are to glorify Christ, not gratify selves!
O to know God more and to make Him known! May that be our goal every year! May God help us be more Christlike and use us for His purposes, glory, and kingdom!
My motto for this year and every year: Coram Deo (To live my life in the presence of God, under the authority of God, to the glory of God!)
